Day 1: USA - Reykjavik (Iceland)
Departure flight to Reykjavik.
Day 2: Reykjavik & Northern Lights Hunt
Arrival at Reykjavík Airport, followed by a shuttle transfer dropping you off at your hotel or at the nearest accessible stop. The rest of the day is free for you to start your exploration of Reykjavik, the capital and largest city in the country.
The city owes its name, "Bay of Smoke", to the steam jets that could be seen rising from hot springs in the region and which probably impressed the first European settlers. Overnight at your hotel in Reykjavik.
Evening: Northern Lights hunt:
*If Northern Lights have not been observed, a second evening will be offered the next day with no additional cost.
In the evening, after dinnertime, take part in a guided Northern Lights hunt tour. Far from the glow of Reykjavik, hunt for the elusive Northern Lights. From autumn until spring, during clear and cold dark nights, it is possible to witness one of nature's most incredible displays: Aurora Borealis. On this evening tour, you may be lucky enough to see them swirling and dancing across the sky, changing endlessly their color, shape, and size.
Day 3: Reykjavik & Blue Lagoon
Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel before getting ready to depart for the stunning Blue Lagoon, a spectacular geothermal spa where lava and thermal water meet and complement one another. You will experience the ultimate relaxation, where the warm, mineral-rich waters are infused with natural active ingredients like silica and blue-green algae. Indulge in the soothing effects of the white silica mud, which gently cleanses and exfoliates your skin. Let the therapeutic minerals and salts restore balance and tranquility to both your body and soul, providing a truly rejuvenating escape. Lunch at leisure. You will be free to stay as long as you want at the lagoon, as the transfers back to your hotel are offered frequently. Afternoon and evening at leisure. Overnight at your hotel in Reykjavik. Day 4: South Shore Adventure
After your breakfast at the hotel, you will take the road toward Vik. You will drive along the South Shore, one of the main farm regions in the country, and pass by typical Icelandic farms, often with Icelandic horses roaming in the fields. If the skies are clear, you might see the area's two most famous volcanoes in the distance: Mount Hekla (last eruption in 2000) and Eyjafjallajokull (last eruption in 2010).
You will stop at the spectacular waterfall of Seljalandsfoss. If trail conditions allow, enjoy the unique experience of walking behind its cascading waters. A short drive away, you'll find Skogafoss, renowned for its picturesque shape and captivating geological history, an ideal spot for stunning photos. Continue your adventure by passing the majestic Myrdalsjokull Glacier on your way to Reynisfjara Beach. Take a stroll on the black sand shores, marveling at the extraordinary rock formations and the powerful waves of the Atlantic Ocean. Overnight at your hotel in Reykjavik. (Breakfast)
Day 5: Reykjavik
After your breakfast at the hotel, enjoy a full day at leisure in the heart of Reykjavik. You can opt for one of the many optional tours offered to you at your hotel tour desk or from various tour agencies around town. If you're looking for a thrilling and unique experience, look no further than the lava shows in Reykjavik. This top-rated attraction offers visitors the chance to witness real molten lava up close in a safe and controlled environment. It's the only live show of its kind in the world and will leave you in awe of the power and beauty of nature. Overnight at your hotel in Reykjavik. (Breakfast)
Day 6: The Golden Circle
After breakfast at your hotel, departure toward Fridheimar greenhouse, where you’ll step inside the inviting warmth of the greenhouse and stroll among rows of vibrant tomato plants. You’ll watch how fresh produce is grown in this unique setting. Then, you’ll head to Geysir geothermal area, with its 30 meters (98 ft.) column of water, shooting to the sky every 4 to 8 minutes. Lunch at leisure.
Your visit continues with Gullfoss Waterfall, falling from the Hvita river to a depth of 32 meters (105 ft). Finally, discover Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where the world’s oldest parliament met for centuries on the shores of Iceland’s largest lake. You might even have the rare chance to walk between two continents as the national park is on the boundary between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates! Return to Reykjavik. Overnight at your hotel in Reykjavik. (Breakfast)
Day 7: Reykjavik
After breakfast at your hotel, continue your exploration of the region around Reykjavik during a full day at leisure. You can also opt for one of the optional tours available at the destination, ranging from traditional sightseeing to soft adventure activities. You can explore the vibrant Laugavegur and Rainbow Street for shopping and street art, hike up Mount Esja for stunning city views, relax at the Sky Lagoon with its geothermal waters and ocean views, and take an immersive flight over Iceland's landscapes. Day 8: Reykjavik - USA
After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy some free time to wander around the old town of Reykjavik. Transfer to the airport for your flight home. (Breakfast)

Economy flight needs to be explained as i tried to pay for seating for plane as it was an overnight flight and Air Canada explained to me that that economy ticket did not allow me to even pay to pick seating together. These things are all important things to know AHEAD of time.

This was a great trip but if you are single traveller hoping to meet fellow travellers with wing buddy. This would not be the trip. You would be pretty much on your own.

The tours and tour guides were excellent and I would highly recommend all. There was a bit of confusion with the cancellation of the Northern Lights tour (due to weather conditions) but it was resolved with a call to the tour company. It was also great to have a few free days to explore Reykjavík. There is so much to see and do! A city card is a great value to access public transit and many museums and other sites.

This was a semi-organized trip to Iceland so had 2 longer tours, 2 shorter ones and 2 free days. Overall this was a well-organized itinerary and everything went smoothly except for a minor glitch during airport pick-up at the end of the trip. My documentation said to be at the bus stop at 1 p.m. but when I got there I was told I should have been there half an hour earlier. This needs to be more clearly worded in the itinerary. I got to the airport no problem in any case and well in advance. The hotel was very good (I had the upgraded hotel), not right in the centre, but a 20-minute walk away. A comprehensive breakfast was included (a big bonus given the high cost of food in Iceland - most entrees are $40 Cdn+ there no matter where you go). The tours were excellent - Wingbuddy chose a good company for the tours. On a free day I got my own tour with a different company, and that was far inferior to the ones Wingbuddy had arranged for me. This is my second experience with Wingbuddy (the first was an organized tour to Spain and Portugal) and both times I was impressed by how interesting and comprehensive the itinerary was and how things made sense overall. I do sometimes book my own travel independently, but I have found that the expertise provided by Wingbuddy helped me to have a more holistic experience. For example, I would have balked at paying $200 Cdn for the Blue Lagoon and probably wouldn't have done it, but having it on the itinerary led me to do it, and I have found out since that this is a not-to-be-missed aspect of going to Iceland. Also, I rely on their expertise in finding hotels that are excellent despite not being right in the centre of town, which reduces costs.

We took the Iceland Discovery package in May 2025, which was our first experience with Wingbuddy. We elected the upgraded hotel option and the Midgardur hotel in Reykjavik was a great selection; clean, friendly and helpful staff, full breakfast included, and a perfect location downtown near shopping and restaurants. The tour pickup location was 50 feet from the hotel door, and the hop on hop off bus stop was just a short block away. All the transfers and tours went flawlessly. This trip and package was my choice, and my wife, who prefers luxury travel, was expecting this trip to be "bare-bones" but she is very happy with the hotel and the tours. All told it was a wonderful experience and we would not hesitate to travel with Wingbuddy again.

I was so pleased with the entire trip. Your staff answered all my questions timely. We had a triple room. Alla arranged 3 twin beds in the Foss Rautara which was centrally located and we selected the right Iceland tour which allowed us free time to do other things, like horseback riding and the lava show.
I did my advance homework to know Icelandair doesn't have a free meal so we brought a salad. It rains alot so we brought water proof clothes and shoes. Our tour guide, Kat, gave good advice for restaurants and shopping. It was a great trip for the money.

and the visit to the south side of Iceland was very nice but we did not visit the town of Vik, the guide was nice but to concerned about the time, an additional 30 minutes would have allowed photos to be taken
but we enjoyed our trip to Iceland a lot.

We want to say that Gina (Regina) was amazing! She was one of the tour guides on our day to South Shore in Iceland, and she was part of Reyjavik EXcursions I believe. I loved how she explained how the day was going to go, explaining how long until next stop, etc. She also wore a high visibility vest when we went to the Black Sand Beach which was a great idea since it was easy to see her, as well as when we were walking to the glacier. Easy to see her.

I can’t say enough about how great Wingbuddy was. It took all of the stress out of travel and allowed me to really relax and enjoy my vacation. The excursions were phenomenal, the hotel was in a fantastic location with great staff and excellent breakfast, and the airline was great. I would normally spend weeks trying to figure out what to see and do on a trip and then stress over transportation - Wingbuddy took care of everything! All I had to do was show up with my passport. I can’t recommend y’all enough. I will definitely be booking another trip through Wingbuddy!

The hotel Fron was situated in a fabulous location. It was nice having an apartment style room…kitchen, separate bedroom. The restaurant served delicious dinners. I had booked the room a night before our arrival to ensure we had a place to sleep. On check out the hotel did not charge me for this. Overall an excellent trip. This is our 3rd booking with Wingbuddy. All have been excellent.

Thank you for a great experience. There were no glitches in our trip at all. My only comment for improvement would be regarding the excursions. Some people (who did not book the the excursions with Wingbuddy) were doing optional activities i.e. some of them got dropped off to do an ATV tour and picked up on the way back, for example. If we had realized this we would have paid extra to do some of these things too. This is a minor point though. I must say I am extremely happy with Wingbuddy right from initial booking to heading home. Thank you very much. I would definitely book with you again!
