10 NIGHTS / 11 DAYS
Day 1: USA - San José (Costa Rica)
Departure flight to San José.
Arrival at the airport in San José. You will be greeted by our local representatives and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to relax at your hotel or explore San José.
Day 2: San José - Tortuguero
Early departure toward the Caribbean coast. Breakfast will be offered at the hotel before departure and en route. Driving through the northern part of the country, you will see a beautiful landscape of tall mountains, rivers, and cloud forests. Upon arrival to the closest town near Tortuguero, you will embark on a boat ride to your hotel (approx. 90min). Through a series of canals, you might even spot a few exotic birds, monkeys, and caimans. After check-in and lunch at the hotel, you will start your exploration of the area with a visit to the town of Tortuguero. Return and dinner at the hotel. (Breakfast-Lunch-Dinner)
Day 3: Tortuguero National Park
In the morning, after breakfast, you will be transferred to Tortuguero National Park for a boat tour where you will discover the rich biological diversity of this coastal zone. Located in a tropical climate, this remote conservation area consists of eleven different habitats, including rainforest, mangrove forests, swamps, beaches, and lagoons. It shelters seven species of turtle, a large variety of crustaceans and many species of freshwater fish. Through this morning excursion, you will be able to see birds, monkeys, caimans and much more! Following lunch, free time to relax at your hotel or opt for an optional tour that will be offered at destination. Dinner at the hotel. (Breakfast-Lunch-Dinner)
Day 4: Tortuguero - Arenal Volcano National Park
Following breakfast, you will board a boat for your transfer back to the pier. Continuation by bus to Guapiles, where you will enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. Enjoying the scenery and countryside views along the ride, you will reach the town of La Fortuna in the Arenal area. Rest of the day free to enjoy the facilities of your hotel. Dinner at leisure. (Breakfast - Lunch)
Day 5: Arenal Volcano National Park
After breakfast, get ready to discover the secrets of what makes Costa Rican coffees and chocolates some of the best in the world. You will learn about the entire coffee process, from seed to cup, on this intuitive agricultural tour. On to the sweetest part of the activity, your guide will describe the entire chocolate process, before you will have the opportunity to taste several types of chocolates produced locally. Upon your return to the hotel, free time to opt for optional activities such as hiking in La Fortuna’ waterfall (approx. $20 USD / person), go for a short hike to discover the famous Arenal Volcano (approx. $21 USD / person), or spotting sloths & toucans in their natural habitat (approx. $70 USD / person). Dinner on your own. (Breakfast)
Day 6: Arenal Volcano National Park - Monteverde
Breakfast at the hotel before departing toward Monteverde. You will drive around Lake Arenal, taking in amazing views of the Volcano and surrounding nature, where a few local communities perched in the mountains remain. Upon arrival in Monteverde, you can walk around the hotel or go for a walk in the little town of Monteverde (approx. 20 min walk). We recommend going to a viewpoint near the hotel to watch a beautiful sunset. Evening at leisure. (Breakfast)
Day 7: Monteverde
After breakfast, you will discover the beauty of Costa Rican forests on the first hanging bridges built in the country. This guided adventure will bring you on trails and amazing hanging bridges through the dense cloud forests of Monteverde. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience with the surrounding flora and fauna at every level of these magical tropical rainforests. Lunch and rest of the day at leisure. In the afternoon, you can book a zipline excursion (approx. $105 USD / person) in the cloud forest of Monteverde. In the evening, you can opt for a night walk (approx. $73 USD / person) to meet wildlife and potentially see frogs, sleeping birds, scorpions, insects, and more. Dinner at your convenience. (Breakfast)
Day 8: Monteverde – Central Pacific area
Breakfast at the hotel. Head to the Pacific coast, where the final part of your trip will be more independent. Arrival at the hotel around 1:00 PM for check-in. The rest of the day is free to enjoy the hotel facilities or relax at the nearby beach. (Breakfast)
Day 9: Central Pacific area - Optional full-day tour to Manuel Antonio National Park
Breakfast at the hotel. Full day free to relax at your hotel or at the beach. You can also opt for an optional full-day tour to Manuel Antonio National Park ($). (Breakfast)

We stayed in Tortuguero, La Fortuna, Monteverde and at the Punta Leona Hotel on the Pacific coast. We chose Wingbuddy's classic package, and enjoyed all our accommodations, especially the Pachira Lodge in Toruguero and Punta Leona Hotel. The food throughout Costa Rica was excellent, and our guide (Cesar) was incredibly informative, patient and professional. It was a whirlwind way to see Costa Rica, but we saw so much and loved every new location along the way.

Our guide was excellent, experienced,considerate to all needs! Personable and experienced with the nature of Costa Rica! There were 16 in our group which was perfect for the distance we travelled. It would not have been possible to have seen and experienced all the tour offered with a larger group! We chose smaller groups for a tour so adequate time is allowed for each area! A group of more than 15 would not have worked!!! The tour for us was well planned and executed with comfortable air conditioned busses!!
Enjoyed all accommodation as they were consistent with the country so we could enjoy the local experiences. American hotels were used only when we visited airports etc.
Our air travel was difficult for us.We arrived at our first hotel at 2:am and had an early start the next day of 6.a.m.
Travel with Wingbuddy was excellent well planned and executed. We learned a lot in a beautiful country we had never experienced before!

Our trip was everything I had wished for on my bucket list. Educational, fun, great people and guides and warm weather. Zip lining was my worry before we went to Costa Rica as I have to walk with a cane. I used walking poles on my trip, and was treated with care by the bus drivers entering and exiting our buses, the zip line in Monteverdi at the sloth, butterfly park, was excellent. I went tandem with a guide and when I went Tandem with my daughter they had a guide take my poles to the next drop off so I would have them for the next trek to the next zip line. I’m 68 and they were so good and made it so easy for me. My bucket list completed. Thank you Wingbuddy.

We toured the Natural Wonders of Costa Rica this past July 2024. Our tour guide was Alan Rodriguez Nunez. Alan was an excellent guide. He is a walking encyclopedia, and everything he showed us included interesting facts, ie the type of birds he could identify just by sound and the local flora by its genus name. The tour itself was not too restrictive of a schedule as we were given ample time to choose where to eat for the dinners that were not included in the package. We were also able to shop for souvenirs at several shops. Alan always asked what we would like to do and checked that we were happy, he made sure we were never hungry asking when we would like lunch and dinner. Our bus driver, Raul was also excellent. Raul traversed the winding mountain roads with ease and it was comforting that he was at the wheel. Not having to worry about our itinerary and transportation was a great benefit of this vacation. Driving in Costa Rica is an adventure in itself. Since we had Alan and Raul to worry about the details of the tour, we were able to enjoy our vacation thoroughly and highly recommend this tour. In 10 days, we felt that we saw all the diverse regions of this country.

We had a wonderful experience in Costa Rica! Our guide Alex was very knowledgeable and we got to see so much wildlife due to his expertise. He made a WhatsApp group for everyone to stay in touch and shared all the professional photos he took along the way. We found that to be a nice touch. Our driver Cristian was also very experienced with the road conditions and he had such a fun personality. We loved all of the activities and places we went to. My two personal favourites were the Pachira Lodge in Tortuguero and Punta Leona. We absolutely loved the resort’s facilities and amazing scenery/wildlife surrounding the hotels. The food was great at every location, very fresh and pure. My only suggestion is to cut the Country Lodge in Monteverde to one night since there isn’t much to do around there after the hanging bridges and zip line. I would have loved to spend more time in Punta Leona to take advantage of the beautiful beaches at the end of the trip. I would do it all over again and already can’t wait to go back to Costa Rica!

This was our first organized tour and it did not disappoint. We saw many amazing things and all our fellow travelers were lovely, interesting people who we would be very happy to travel with again.
Our travel guide (Allan) went well beyond what is expected and tried to ensure that everyone on the tour had the best possible experience. His knowledge of the plants, animals, history, agriculture etc. of Costa Rica is very impressive and significantly added to the enjoyment of the vacation. He organized many activities and meals that were over and above what was included in the tour. He is very proud of his country which is very nice to see. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU ASK FOR ALLAN IF YOU ARE FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO TAKE THIS TOUR.
I would recommend that you pay the small amount extra to get the Superior rooms.
One suggestion the I would have is to make the tour a couple of days longer. There was lots more to do in Monteverde and La Fortuna. We were in 6 hotels in 10 nights and it seemed like we were always packing and unpacking or on the bus.

Our guide, Javier Salazar was amazing. He went above and beyond to attend to the needs of the guests on our tour. He was personable, extremely knowledgeable and charmingly funny. Javier is a wonderful ambassador for his country. We enjoyed discovering the diverse nature of Costa Rica.

Gerardo was an amazing guide, went well above to ensure everyone had an amazing experience, from stopping the bus to gather fruits and insects to show us, to buying snacks for the entire group. Our bus driver was also amazing, guiding this big vehicle around hairpin turns and around the towns. Always felt very safe while under his command. This is our 4 th wing buddy vacation and have always been very impressed with the price and the quality. We will definitely be future customers.

We enjoyed this tour of Costa Rica so much, exceeded our expectations. A very unique itinerary, lots of attention to detail. So happy our excellent drivers did all the driving, as roads are often a challenge going to these wonderful stops. Our tour guide Sebastian went above and beyond sharing all his knowledge of this beautiful country, and took excellent care of us all along the way. Hotels were lovely, we opted for the superior package, well worth it. You can opt to add days at the beginning or end as well if you need more time to relax, just work with the agent. But the itinerary was perfect for us as is. 10/10

I have been on many tours before with several other name brand companies through a travel agent and wingbuddy certainly can hold its own up against the top ones. Everything was well organized and on time. First time traveller with Wing Buddy. Trip went very smoothly - overall a 5 star trip. We were fortunate in that we had a very nice and smaller group - 5 Canadians and 4 to 6 US - 2 joined us after first 2 days. Our group was all over 60 years in age. This tour covers much of what you want to see in Costa Rica, Atlantic and Pacific Coasts, Rain Forest, Cloud Forest, Lake Arenal etc. Arenal Volcanoe was socked in so we did an excellent optional tour at Don Juan coffee and cocao with wildlife (local Justin was a great tour guide) as an option in La Fortuna and Butterfly tour in Monte Verde (Zip lines also available). One note, my wife and I opted out of the last day optional tour (to relax) which is highly rated and I was able to play a relaxing golf round at La Iguana golf club at the nearby ($20 cab ride) Los Suenos Marriott Ocean & Golf Resort Resort in Playa Herradura (Taylor made rental clubs and all. So this is an option for golfers. Finakky our guide Geraldo (7 days) and bus driver Jorge (5 days) had never worked together before but both were excellent - attentive to our needs and very very helpful. Geraldo (Boa is his nickname) was wonderful. He has a University degree, is an expert on wildlife (snakes, spiders, monkeys, sloths, iguanas, birds etc.and fauna and where to look. Seemed like everywhere we went the locals not only knew him but gave him hugs as we all did when we said our farewells. I can not rate Geraldo highly enough - a soulful, caring and loving young man with a great sense of humor and very patient with us older folks. If you can get Geraldo as your guide on this 11 day tour with Wing Buddy - do it.

This is my first time travelling in a group tour. I usually travel with just a few friends. In the beginning it felt a little strange with so many people. But once I adjusted it was totally fine. I thought our guide Camilo Espinoza was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, caring, respectful and super accommodating to such a large group. All of the bus drivers were great as well. The activities included in the tour were something that everyone could enjoy - regardless of age or skill level. That was nice. But there was always other options for those interested in doing something else. The food was so fresh and delicious. Costa Rica was much more than I anticipated. I would 100% travel there again.

This was our third wingbuddy tour. As the last two Greece and Italy, the service we received was exceptional. We were always meet at each destination, airport or hotel in a timely manner with English speaking knowledgeable and friendly agents and guides. The hotels on this particular tour were excellent and the food was great. Our guide Leo, went over and above what was expected of him. He treated us like family. The tours themselves were excellent. We would go back to Costa Rica again and even do this tour again. Five stars all round!

This was our third trip with Wingbuddy and it was fantastic! What made it exceptional was our tour guide Leonardo. He showed us some beautiful sites that were not on our itinerary like waterfalls, sunsets, and excellent restaurants. He treated us to fresh local foods like lychee, coconut, watermelon and pineapple! The rain didn’t seem to interfere with our excursions as Leonardo was flexible on the timing of them. Would like to especially mention our driver, Fredrick and tour guide, Sebastian. They both were always cheerful, extremely helpful, and seemed to genuinely care that we enjoyed our trip in their country. Sebastian always gave us tips for each location on how to spend our free time and on how to more fully appreciate each booked tour. He also reminded us on meeting times and locations, pointed out things while we travelled from one location to the next, talked about his culture, and always was there to help.
We truly felt “cared for” by both of them. One of our fellow travelers was a single 88 year old travelor that needed assistance on occasion. Both of them were gallant gentlemen, helping without making it a big deal. It was truly a pleasure to be in their company.

We just returned from our tour of Costa Rica and can't speak more highly of our overall experience. Monkeys, sloths, toucans, macaws, butterflies, exotic scenery ... this tour was such a great experience!
Our itinerary provided us with many opportunities to experience the wonderful geography and wildlife that made up our 11 days travelling through this jewel of a country. Hugo is an engaged, knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide who made sure that we got the most from each of the locations we visited. Our drivers were all excellent and made the many long miles across all kinds of terrain safe and relaxing, often with impromptu stops to see sights and animals of interest along the roads. Hotel accomodations all were clean and included extremely comfortable beds which were very much appreciated after our busy days of travel and sightseeing. Our included daily buffet breakfast and lunch offerings were all served hot and fresh, if maybe not significantly varied each day. Non-included meals had us directed to an assortment of local restaurants with extremely good food and drinks provided at comparable prices to any Canadian city.
Itinerary activities were all very good with great facilitators who presented their particular knowledge and expertise with pride. Optional tours and activities were offered at each place that we stayed and we took part in several of these as well. We also signed up for the full day Manuel Antonio National Park tour, provided by Tucanes Tours. Maria, our guide for the day obviously loves her job and scoured the trail to make sure that we had something interesting to see and learn about every few steps, as we observed monkeys, sloths, birds, snakes, lizards, and even a few insects before a very welcome visit to the beach for a warm swim in the ocean before returning to our hotel.
One suggestion that I would make would be to inform potential clients that their first stop in Tortuguero is at an eco lodge set right in the humid rainforest with non-air conditioned cabins with screened windows and ceiling fans. It's a unique immersive experience to be a part of the wilderness with native species unconcernedly going about their business everywhere around you but may not be a good option for clients with heart or respiratory issues due to the significant heat and humidity. We personally loved the experience but I can see where it may not be something that most travellers would anticipate ahead of their arrival.
Over all, Costa Rica was a bucket list trip for us and Wingbuddy came through with a great vacation, a ton of beautiful pictures and many happy memories. We look forward to booking other tours with your company in the future.

I had a lot of fun, and I liked the places we have visited especially the Arenal Volcano and hot springs. I have never imagened of the wild life, like krokodils, monkeys, birds, and iguanas we were able to see.

This trip exceeded my expectations which were pretty high to begin with. Our tour guide Diego was just the best and went above and beyond in ensuring that everyone was enjoying the tour. He was not only knowledgeable about the places we went and things we did but he was very personable too and proud of his country. Our bus driver was great and clearly the two of them had a good working relationship. My suggestion would be to opt for the upgraded hotels; the standard ones were fine, but I enjoyed the upgrades a great deal.

The Costa Rica trip with Wingbuddy was fantastic. The itinerary was exactly as described in the package, all travel was well organized, and we got to see so much of Costa Rica in 11 days. It is a busy tour but my family (parents with two teens) found it had an excellent combination of planned excursions and free time to explore, plus optional extras. Our tour guide (Allan) was awesome! He was knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, and did a fantastic job guiding us and teaching us about the country’s wildlife, customs, and history. The tour was wonderful overall. The traveling was a bit much with the constant changing of hotels. It also gets dark early in Costa Rica 5:30pm so there wasn't enough time to realy explore the towns when we arrived. The tours were great and our tour guide was fantastic. I would recomend Wingbuddy to anyone loking to travel with a tour company. I would definitely use this company again but I would choose and itinerary with a longer time spent in each location.

We had a wonderful trip. This tour showed us the different ecosystems and different topography the country has to offer. The best part of our trip was our guide Allan Cespedes. Extremely professional, extremely knowledgeable, extremely flexible and efficient. This was our first tour however we traveled with family members who have done many tours and they say Allan Cespedes was by far one of the best tour guides they ever had. I know the tour was successful mostly because of him.

4 girlfriends travelled for 12 days . Dealing with Wingbuddy was easy. Take note that you can discuss change of airlines for non stop flights. We upgraded for about $100.00 which was worth it. Also know that the weather is very changeable especially in Monteverdi….. can be windy, cool and rainy. We spent a wonderful day on the Canopy walk and zip lining. Fabulous. The accommodations vary from eco lodging in Torcoguero NP to a small lodge in Monteverde ( enjoyed it much) but was cold sleeping to Punta Leona on the Pacific. This was a typical large resort with shuttles within the resort and to the Sandy Pacific. There was only 1 restaurant but we enjoyed our 3 days there sunning, swimming, water aerobics, dining and enjoying cocktails. There was a great buffet for breakfast and enjoyed watching the monkeys and Iguanas.
Lastly but very important was our guide named Tyrone. He has a wealth of knowledge in all Costa Rican. Friendly, professional and a great sense of humour. We were on a bus of 20 people. A/C but no WIFI. The trip consisted of a day of travel and rest once you arrived and the following day of excursions. This continued until we arrived in the Pacific . A great trip as we saw much more then staying at an all inclusive. Thanks Wingbuddy

For this tour/trip I would recommend an extra night in San Jose at the beginning or end of the tour and include a city wide tour. The city has alot of history to share and include in a dinner with the tour. We paid $75US for a 5 hr tour. It was very enjoyable.

Our trip to Costa Rica was fantastic. Our guide Juan Carlos (JC as we called him) was extremely knowledgeable, funny and caring. He made our trip even better. I should also mention our driver, also named Juan Carlos, but we went with Tete, his nickname. He was a great driver, spotted all kinds of wildlife and also one hell of a dancer/DJ. Another reason our trip was so memorable. Thank you to both of them. Good was outstanding and all the staff at the various hotels were very helpful. We will be going back to Costa Rica at some point to investigate the country more based on the great adventure we had. Thank you.

The trip was amazing! Our your guide Boa was outstanding, professional, and very caring! Our driver Horhay was amazing and caring!only complaint was very long bus ride due yo a change in our schedule which we were not told of the reason for the change! Eould different recommendations!

The trip was well organized, The guide (Costas and driver Carlos). were excellent. They made the trip effortless and memorable. The accommodations were good as was the food. I would recommend this tour to anyone looking for a relaxing, enjoyable and interesting break. Staying two days in each place ws helpful and appreciated

This was my first ever group excursion trip and I am so glad I chose Wingbuddy! The booking was seamless and I had no trouble obtaining documents online.
I did the 11 day Costa Rica trip and though it was packed solid and go, go, go, we got to see so many things Costa Rica has to offer! Our guide, Costas, was absolutely wonderful! Very knowledgable, fun happy, positive man, always willing to help in any situation.
All the hotels we stayed at were beautiful, each offering their own vibe. The last one for me, Punta Leona, though beautiful, was little too large for my liking but I have never been a fan of enormous resort type hotels and that is exactly what this was. A lot of locals go there and we arrived on a Sunday and it was very busy due to Xmas holidays.
I will definitely book with Wingbuddy again! I also lucked out on the group of people I was with. We all got along so well :)

When I inquired about a trip to Costa Rica Melanie in customer service was exceptional. She listened and answered all of our questions. If she needed to get back to us she did in a timely manner as well explained when we would receive our travel documents. Truly enjoyed working with her.
Our tour guide Isaac was great! Isaac was informative, very detailed, he took care of us until the very end. We enjoyed his company as much as he enjoyed ours.
Our bus driver Carlos (I'm sure) is an amazing driver, he knew the roads like the back of his hand. He was very friendly, courteous he enjoyed laughing with us.

Overall this tour was quite good. What made this tour stand out was the Guide, Constantino for our Costa Rica trip. Constantino was the absolute best. He was always pleasant, congenial,knowledgable and humble. In truth, he made this adventure fantastic.Constantino made everything flow easily and competently.If Wingbuddy continues to hire guides of this caliber we will use their service again.

Overall this tour was more than I had hoped for. Our guide Diego and bus driver Carlos were exceptional! The only complaint I would give to this tour was the standard accommodation in Monte verde but all other hotels were great. Organized tours were also amazing. Would highly recommend this tour. In times when it is very hard to telephone and get through to anyone, I was able to contact and speak to someone at Wingbuddy fairly quickly and any emails I sent were replied to within 24 hrs. Would not hesitate to book future tours with this company again.

From beginning with Sharon to the end with our tour guide Juan Carlos ( in Costa Rica) our experience was great!
Juan Carlos was experienced, knowledgeable, friendly and courteous. My parents, especially my father bonded immediately with him. He made sure everyone on our tour was made to feel welcomed and included.
One of the members of our tour had an accident and Juan Carlos made medical arrangements including an emergency shoulder surgery. The member received excellent medical care and was able to rejoin the group. This trip was unforgettable thanks to Juan Carlos and every single person we met in Costa Rica!

The only drawback (very minor) was we did not get a schedule for the times of pickups. We eventually got one from the hotel who contacted the tour and printed one out. I have travelled a lot and this one was one of the best!

The itinerary, guides, transportation, and accommodation were all excellent! Overall value, GREAT. Perfect for first time visit, 4 different ecosystems. As a solo traveller communication/information could have been more accurate. I had a wonderful trip and thank 3 fellow adventurers for including me.
