PERU DISCOVERY
12 NIGHTS / 13 DAYS
Day 1: USA - Lima (Peru)
Departure flight to Lima.
Upon arrival at Lima’s airport, you will be greeted by our local representatives after exiting customs and transferred to your hotel. Lima, the vibrant capital of Peru, is a dynamic metropolis rich in history and currently experiencing exciting cultural and economic transformations.
Day 2: Lima
After breakfast, begin your exploration of Lima’s historic old town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site filled with fascinating colonial architecture. Your tour starts at Casa Aliaga, the only 16th century colonial house still owned by the same family. Next, enjoy a scenic tour of Lima’s colonial downtown, featuring the Main Square with its impressive Spanish Empire architecture and the 16th-century Cathedral of Lima.
You will then head to the traditional Pueblo Libre district, where you will visit the Larco Museum, located in a beautifully restored viceregal mansion built on a 7th-century pre-Columbian pyramid. The museum showcases an extensive collection of pre-Hispanic gold and silver artifacts. You will return to your hotel and will have the afternoon at leisure. Overnight in Lima. (Breakfast)
Day 3: Lima - Arequipa
Following breakfast, you will be transferred from your hotel to the airport for your flight to Arequipa.
Upon arrival in Arequipa, you will be transferred to your hotel. Lunch at leisure. In the afternoon, your tour begins with a visit to Carmen Alto for a panoramic view of the Arequipa countryside. You will then continue to the district of Yanahuara before visiting the Church of the Compañia de Jesus. The tour concludes at Arequipa’s beautiful Main Square, followed by a visit of the Monastery of Santa Catalina, a cloistered convent built in 1579, that is still in use to this date. Afterward, you will be transferred back to your hotel. Dinner at leisure and overnight in Arequipa. (Breakfast)
Day 4: Arequipa - Puno
After breakfast at the hotel, you'll depart for Puno, traveling through the marvelous landscapes of the Andes as you ascend toward the high plains of the Altiplano. You will pass through the Pampa Cañahuas National Reserve where you might see vicuñas, an indigenous Andean camelid. After enjoying your box lunch on the bus, you will visit the ancient necropolis of Sillustani, known for its towering funerary towers (chullpas). In the late afternoon, you will arrive in Puno and check into your hotel. You will have an evening at leisure, and we invite you to take this time to relax and gradually acclimate to the altitude. Dinner at leisure and overnight in Puno. (Breakfast-Lunch)
Day 5: Puno - Lake Titicaca (Taquile Island)
Following breakfast, your excursion on Lake Titicaca begins with a motorboat crossing to Taquile Island. This island is home to a native Peruvian community that still speaks Quechua and has developed a unique social structure along with very refined textile art over the centuries. You will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. In the evening, you will discover the warmth and hospitality of an island family who will welcome you with a delicious dinner and provide a traditional room for your overnight stay. (Breakfast-Lunch-Dinner)
Day 6: Lake Titicaca (Taquile Island) - Puno
After breakfast, you will take a motorboat to visit the floating islands of Uros. This very ancient culture inhabits a series of artificial islands off the coast of Puno, which are constructed from creed plants native to the lake’s shores. You will then return to Puno in the afternoon and have the rest of the day at leisure. Dinner at leisure and overnight in Puno (Breakfast)
Day 7: Puno - Cusco
After breakfast, you will embark on your journey to the heart of the Inca Empire. Enjoy the breathtaking landscapes of the highlands, dotted with small Andean villages and local wildlife. Along the way, you will visit the archaeological sites of Pucará (dating from 200 BC to 300 AD) and Racchi where you will admire the ruins of an Inca temple (a remarkable rectangular construction that measures 30 meters wide and 20 meters high) dedicated to the creator god Wiracocha. You will also visit Andahuaylillas known for its main attraction: a church often referred to as the "Sistine Chapel of the Americas" due to its impressive works of art. Upon your arrival in Cusco, you will be transferred to your hotel. Dinner at leisure and overnight in Cusco. (Breakfast-Lunch)
Day 8: Cusco - Sacred Valley
After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel in Cusco to visit the town of Chinchero, where you will enjoy stunning views of the valley. The inhabitants of this area preserve the artisan traditions and the inherited knowledge of the Incas which they display in their clothes and customs. Here, you’ll also find archaeological remains and a beautiful 17th-century church, one of the first Catholic buildings in Peru.
Next, you will be transferred to the Living Museum of Yucay, a center dedicated to Andean traditions and cultural interpretations. After enjoying a delicious buffet-style lunch in the Sacred Valley, you will continue your journey to Ollantaytambo, you will experience the unique Andean atmosphere as this town still follows original Inca urban planning and has been inhabited since then. At the end of this activity, transfer to your hotel in Sacred Valley. Dinner at leisure and overnight in Sacred Valley. (Breakfast-Lunch)
Day 9: Sacred Valley - Machu Picchu - Cusco
Following breakfast, your Machu Picchu excursion will begin with a scenic 90-minute train journey from Ollantaytambo station to Aguas Calientes. After a quick bus transfer, you will arrive at Machu Picchu, the "lost city of the Incas". This remarkable archaeological site was built in 1450 by the Inca Pachacutec as a holiday residence. A century later, the citadel was abandoned following the Spanish conquest, fleeing destruction as other Inca sites have known. The vegetation then gradually invaded its stone buildings and hid it, thus protecting it for centuries. During your guided tour, you will uncover the fascinating history and origins of this impressive site. After the visit, return by bus to Aguas Calientes for lunch, and then return to Ollantaytambo by train. Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to your hotel in Cusco for a dinner at leisure and your overnight stay. (Breakfast-Lunch)
* Please note that due to train restrictions, you will need to pack a light backpack for your full-day tour of Machu Picchu. Your main luggage will be waiting for you at your hotel in Cusco.
Day 10: Cusco
Following breakfast, you will explore the wonderful city of Cusco on a walking tour. Begin in the Main Square, home to the church of Compañía de Jesus and the imposing Cusco Cathedral. The tour continues through San Blas, one of Cusco’s most emblematic neighborhoods. Originally inhabited by the Inca nobility, San Blas is now renowned for its prestigious artisan workshops. Among its greatest attractions is San Blas Church, famous for its priceless pulpit intricately carved by a master indigenous woodcarver. The descent continues towards the Coricancha also known as "The temple of the Sun", before continuing through Plaza Regocijo and to Plaza San Francisco. The tour ends at San Pedro Market, where you will experience a sensory feast of products from different regions of Cusco. Afterwards, you will return to your hotel for lunch on your own and an afternoon at leisure. Overnight in Cusco. (Breakfast)
Day 11: Cusco - Palcoyo - Cusco
After breakfast, you will have an early transfer from your hotel in Cusco to the starting point of the trek to the impressive Palcoyo mountain range. Like Vinicunca, the 7-Colored Mountain, Palcoyo’s vibrant colors arise from minerals such as iron, magnesium, calcium, among others, which have accumulated over millions of years, creating a stunning visual spectacle. Unlike Vinicunca, reaching the Palcoyo mountain range involves a moderate and accessible walk with no steep slopes, reaching a maximum elevation of 4,900 meters above sea level. Upon arrival, take a moment to enjoy the breathtaking views and appreciate the serene surroundings as this area experiences less foot traffic than Vinicunca. After this visit, begin the descent and enjoy a picnic lunch while continuing to enjoy the spectacular scenery. Following your meal, you will be transferred back to your hotel for a free evening. Dinner at leisure and overnight in Cusco. (Breakfast-Lunch)
Day 12: Cusco - Lima
Following breakfast, you will be transferred from your hotel to the airport in Cusco for your flight to Lima. Upon arrival in Lima, you will be greeted by our local representative and transferred to your hotel. Evening at leisure and overnight in Lima. (Breakfast)
Day 13: Lima - USA
Enjoy your last breakfast at the hotel. Greeting in the lobby of your hotel by our local representatives and transfer to the airport for your flight home. (Breakfast)
-End of services-
This organized tour offers access to one of three extraordinary circuits to experience the world-famous Machu Picchu. Each route reveals views of iconic Inca temples and sacred terraces, allowing you to explore this legendary site from a unique and memorable perspective while enjoying an immersive visit.

Thank You, Lima Tours
A Trip to Remember
To everyone at Lima Tours,
Arif and I would like to extend our sincere thanks to each and every one of you for organizing such an incredible journey through Peru. Our 39th anniversary trip was truly unforgettable, and it wouldn’t have been possible without your exceptional planning and care.
From the seamless flights and airport transfers to the accommodations, delicious meals, and the knowledgeable, English speaking guides everything exceeded our expectations. Each guide brought Peru’s rich culture and history to life, making every site we visited even more meaningful.
From the awe inspiring Machu Picchu to the breathtaking Rainbow Mountain, and the beautiful historic churches and cities, every moment was filled with wonder and joy.
One of the highlights of our journey was the amazing group we traveled with. The connection we shared was so special, we even gave ourselves a name: “The Canadian Incas.” It added such a fun and personal touch to an already remarkable experience.
Thank you once again to the entire Lima Tours team for making our anniversary so special. This trip will remain in our hearts forever, and we’re deeply grateful for the comfort, care, and unforgettable memories you helped create.
With heartfelt appreciation,
Arif & Shireen Datoo

This was a wonderful itinerary. I felt we saw a very good sampling of life in Peru. All the guides and drivers could not have been more helpful and courteous. All the accommodations were lovely and located close to the hub of tourist activity. Great trip!

We were very fortunate to have a very good group of travellers. We all got along well. The hotels although rated 3* were excellent and clean. The hotels were centrally located close to city centres and easy to get to markets, restaurants, etc. There were a few people that paid extra for upgraded hotels and we found that we did not get to know them as well. Their hotels tended to be out of the city centre. I would recommend that future travellers do not pay for the upgrades.
The meals that were provided were mostly breakfast and there was a good selection at every location. The lunches at restaurants the were included were excellent with a good variety of food. The food provided to us at Tequile Island was excellent, as was the hospitality of the locals.
Our guides were excellent especially Roy (Puna) and Carlos (Cusco). All were very informative and could answer any questions that were asked.

I all worked out without any problems. Met great people traveling in the same package, great guides, didn't feel lost and 3-star hotels were in the center of the city. Some changes in the itinerary were made by the guides that benefited the group.
Costumer Service from Wing Buddy and Lito where very efficient and easy to contact.
You helped me have one of my dream trips come to life.
Thank you!

The itinerary was really good and jammed packed full of places to see. Every guide was exceptional and they knew all the answers to all the questions. All the hotels were very clean and tidy and I think some of them were more than the three stars they have. The Ava Spot was our favourite, with lovely grounds and a beautiful garden.
There was a lot of hiking and walking up inclines, which was good for us, but I wouldn't want to have a disability or difficulty walking. Some stayed behind a couple of times, but they knew they would when they signed up.
While I did not get affected by the altitude, more than half of our group of 17 did. The effects were all different, but some were extremely nauseous for a day or so. I only mention it so others can be prepared, just in case they are affected.
This was a very good trip and I recommend it to anyone. We had a great group and a fabulous time! 5 stars!!

My husband and I had an amazing time on our journey through Peru with Wingbuddy Tours. The itinerary was excellent and had so many wonderful experiences that we would not have been able to do on our own. The guides were very knowledgeable and friendly, as was the whole team at Wingbuddy. The travel from location to location was seamless with excellent stops organized for some of our longer journeys. Peru is also a beautiful country, with an history, wonderful culture, people and food. This was our first time in South America and our first organized; we were not disappointed. Thank you to the entire Wingbuddy team.

The trip was well organized and they did an exceptional job. They were knowledgeable, very friendly and helpful. I left important items in a hotel safe and they arranged for it to be transported to my next hotel. Everything, (including cash) arrived intact!! They were excellent at problem solving!! It would have been nice to have guides change less frequently but they were great, especially Carlos and the amazing trip to the Island. WELL DONE. This is my 3rd WingBuddy trip, and not my last.

This was our first organized tour trip ever and well worth the money. Peru is definitely a place we would recommend to others, although the itinerary was very busy. The food was fantastic!

Beautiful country and kind hardworking guides & citizens. The trip was well organized; great tours; meals and accommodations. The last hotel was lacking a bit wrt breakfast and quality of wifi. Guides were very attentive & knowledgeable. Don’t forget your altitude meds! Highly recommend this trip!

We had a wonderful trip to Peru. All the guides were excellent! Very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Any problems we had were quickly resolved by the guides. We would recommend this trip to anybody who is fit. The only thing we recommend you alter is advise clients there is a certain level of fitness required. Also, for 2 overnight trips we told not to bring luggage only a backpack with pyjamas and toileteries. This was not a problem for us as we had small backpacks, but for others it was an issue. This was our second Wingbuddy Trip and we look forward to the next one.

Loved my trip to Peru only thing to complain about was never having cold drinks with the meals mostly for coffee lovers & the breakfasts weren't very good especially when you can't eat gluten. Other than that everything was great!

Overall it was a great experience. A littel more free time would be nice. The schedule was too packed and not allowaing for enough rest/sleep time. Some small sites and "attractions" could have been avoided to make the days less busy.
