CHARMING PORTUGAL
7 NIGHTS / 9 DAYS
Day 1: USA - Lisbon (Portugal)
Departure flight to Lisbon.
Day 2: Lisbon
Arrival at the airport in Lisbon. You will be greeted by our local representatives after exiting the customs and transfered to your hotel in Lisbon. The rest of the day is free for you to start your exploration of Portugal's capital city.
Lisbon charms with its historic neighbourhoods, vibrant culture, and timeless atmosphere, where tradition meets modern energy, all enhanced by its renowned culinary delights.
Day 3: Lisbon
After breakfast at your hotel, enjoy a half-day guided tour of Lisbon. You will begin with stunning views from the Edward VII observation deck, then explore Avenida da Liberdade and the vibrant downtown areas of Rossio and Praça do Comércio. You will continue to Belém, where the Portuguese explorers once set sail. You will see the Tower of Belém, the Monument of the Discoveries and the Jerónimos Monastery, each a testament to the city’s golden Age of Discovery. After your visit, you will have some time to taste the renowned Pastéis de Belém.
Lunch and afternoon at leisure. Take your time to wander through Alfama’s charming alleys, where colourful streetcars and historic staircases bring Lisbon’s old town to life. Dinner at leisure and overnight at your hotel in Lisbon. (Breakfast)
Day 4: Lisbon – Sintra – Cascais – Lisbon
Following breakfast at the hotel, you will drive along the road surrounded by ancient aristocratic estates and picturesque villages before reaching Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of the European continent. You will continue to Sintra, a medieval royal residence that became a favourite vacation spot for the aristocracy in the 18th century. You will see from afar the romantic Pena palace, a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, known for its elaborate and ornate architecture, which features a mix of Gothic, Renaissance, and Manueline styles.
Lunch at leisure in Sintra before taking back the road. You will stop at the legendary Devil's Mouth cave and Guincho Beach before taking a stroll in the fishing town of Cascais. On your way back to Lisbon, you will pass by Estoril, a spa town where several noble families lived during World War II. Dinner at leisure and overnight in Lisbon. (Breakfast)
Day 5: Lisbon – Tomar – Fatima – Batalha – Porto
Breakfast at your hotel. You will drive towards Tomar, a city steeped in history and the former residence of the Templars. Upon arrival you will visit the convent of Christ, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where you will immerse yourself in the Manueline style with its architectural details, reflecting the golden age period. Then, you will take the direction of Fatima, a town that became a place of worship for believers after the Mother of God appeared to three shepherdesses in 1917. Nowadays, Fatima is a must-visit destination, more than 5 million of pilgrims from different countries come to visit it every year.
Lunch at leisure in Fatima before heading to the Monastery of Batalha, one of the best and original examples of Late Flamboyant Gothic architecture in Portugal. Then you will be transferred to your hotel in Porto. Dinner at leisure and overnight in Porto. (Breakfast)
Day 6: Porto
After breakfast at the hotel, you will enjoy a half-day guided tour of Porto, a city perfectly blends with historic charm and modern vibrancy. You will begin your day at the iconic Bolhão Market, the famous farmers market, before passing by the stunning Chapel of the Souls. You will then stroll down Santa Catarina Street, home to the renowned Majestic Café, and admire the breathtaking tilework at São Bento Train Station. You will walk along Flores Street to the Stock Exchange Palace, where the group will make a quick stop for an explanation at the statue of Henry the Navigator. Then, you will move towards the charming Ribeira district and cross the famous Luis I Bridge on foot. At the end, you will enjoy a Porto wine tasting in the historic wine cellars. After your visit, you will be transferred to your hotel. Enjoy your lunch and afternoon at leisure to continue your exploration of the city. Dinner at leisure and overnight in Porto. (Breakfast)
Day 7: Porto – Douro Valley – Porto
Breakfast at the hotel. Departing from Porto, where the Douro River meets the sea, you'll journey through breathtaking landscapes and architectural marvels, showing the UNESCO heritage that defines the region. The Douro Vinhateiro is a microclimate where olives, almonds and grapes all grow easily. You will enjoy a one-hour traditional rabelo boat tour on the Douro River before heading to a winery for a lunch and wine tasting with entertainment. Evening at leisure and overnight in Porto. (Breakfast-Lunch)
Day 8: Porto – Aveiro – Nazare – Óbidos – Lisbon
Following breakfast at the hotel, you will head to Aveiro, often called the " Venice of Portugal", renowned for its charming canals and traditional culture. Your first stop will be in Costa Nova village, a picturesque village famous for its colourful striped fishermen's houses. Then, you will arrive in Aveiro city center where you will see the canals and the iconic boats.
You will continue to Nazare, a picturesque Portuguese beach town famous for its fresh seafood, cliffs, and fort. You will have some time at leisure for your lunch and to explore the city. Early afternoon, you will move towards Óbidos, a preserved medieval town. Upon arrival, enjoy free time to stroll through its cobblestone streets, visit quaint handicraft shops, and admire the whitewashed houses adorned with flowers. Later, you will head back to Lisbon. Dinner at leisure and overnight in Lisbon. (Breakfast)
Day 9: Lisbon - USA
After breakfast, greeting in the lobby of your hotel by our local representatives and transfer from the hotel to the airport for your flight home. (Breakfast)

Personally I wish I would’ve known how long we would go without food between breakfast and lunch. Being used to eating lunch at 12 and only being able to eat around 2/2:30 made the trip a little bit harder to get through. It was a very busy pace which didn’t leave for a lot of time to relax and catch your breath between doing tours and then getting ready to travel back home. However it was still a very enjoyable experience and big shout out to our tour guide Bernardo and the bus driver!!

Great trip. Excursions were sometimes quite demanding physically, i.e. a "stroll through downtown " turned out to be a 5 mile walk in 30 degree weather with basically no stops.

Absolutely amazing experience with Charming Portugal tour our tour guide and driver were personable informative and we can't say enough about Nuno and Domingus. Very well organized from the moment we were met at the airport and taken to our hotel by another amazing driver, Bruno who gave us a total briefing on were to dine shop and what to eat and drink in our short ride to our hotel in the centre of Lisbon. The trip was excellent! The tour guide; Joao was wonderful as he shared such interesting details about his country and ensured we were comfortable with numerous breaks, recommendations for hidden gems and his sense of humour. The driver, Tiago, also was great, easy going and very skilful. The weather also contributed to the enjoyable experience as it was a very comfortable temperature as two of the days had significant walking. We would highly recommend this trip. Portugal is beautiful!

Our tour was magical! Joao was our guide and he was tremendous - laid back, funny, and kept the trip well organized and enjoyable with the time we had at each location with plenty of history facts and expanding on his culture. Douro Valley was the highlight of the trip, followed up by Nazare, where I wish we could have spent a proper half day to swim. We were blessed with beautiful weather (23-25c and not too humid) which was perfect for the walking portions, but I would not recommend booking if it's going to be 30°C+ because the hills would be unbearable! Beautiful package, beautiful country.

I wish I would have known about the European wall plug for the socket. I had to go get one as my first stop. Lucky I got the last one at a store close to the hotel. It should be added and also they don’t use wash cloths .. two important things for me. Now I know and will be prepared. The trip was amazing and wish it was longer. I didn’t have time for Fado or the bull fights.

Our Guide ‘G’ was fantastic. Really took care of everyone and everything. Showed us places we never dreamed of. Our driver George was great especially going down those narrow roads. Hotels were really good and the restaurants that were recommended to us were really good. Overall a great trip.

I really enjoyed some downtime in Porto at the Hotel roof top pool. Much needed downtime after days of destination visits and walking.

We absolutely loved everything about this trip! The hotel in Lisbon and Porto were great locations for everything. Our tour guide Gonsolo was amazing and so knowledgeable highly recommend him!
We only had 1 complaint from the entire trip, we were not picked up at our hotel on our last day to the airport . We waited an extra 45minutes from our specified time of pick up so we ended up taking a cab to the airport which was very rushed to get to our gate.
We would definitely recommend wingbuddy and will be booking again in the future.

Tour guide was fabulous! We felt safe with bus driver! Drivers have been amazing in some of the small places and also friendly.
We liked the hotels and felt safe there.
Breakfasts were so good.

I had never been on a tour before so was not totally sure what to expect. I was pleased with the quality of the hotels and the many activities organized for us to enjoy this beautiful country. I cannot say enough positive things about our guide, Diana Cruz. She was so welcoming and organized, and had immense knowledge about Portugal, which she regularly shared with us. She was friendly and approachable, making every effort to meet our individual needs.I would also like to mention Rui, who works at the Lisbon Europa, for going the extra mile to solve our issues. well done,Wingbuddy!

I would just like to say this Portugal trip was my second with Wingbuddy, last year I did The best of Ireland, and now Portugal. I have not been disappointed. The drivers and guides are fantastic at their jobs. They are extremely knowledgeable of their country and has told me so much more than I would of ever learned on my own. I will continue to use Wingbuddy for many more vacations.

I was very nervous about traveling with Wingbuddy price was so cheap.But from start to finish it was Awesome !!!our guide G was without a doubt Amazing he told an showed us places an things we would have never known.I am 71 with a slight walking disabilty he told us each day about the walking gave me the option of waiting but the group was fantanstic everyone watched out for me an Cam a young gentleman who was with his wife always came to assist my daughter with me.This was a Fabulous trip.Hotels were great also.Can’t forget the Best bus driver Manuel his skills are Amazing.Lisbon drivers are New Yorkers an California all in one crazy. I am going with Wingbuddy again l highly recomend them.Response time is quick.

Our Tour guide, Jose, was exceptional adn major knowledgeable about his country. His humor and laghter were infectious!. Our bus driver, Victor, was the absolute best and he ahs some mad driving skills to get through those skinny streets and mountain roads! This was the absolute best birthday trip ever!
